LDAP processes

The slapd process is responsible for the functioning of LDAP.

The Ldapfe process handles requests from clients about subscriber information and decides how to route requests. It runs the web administration requests for Messaging Web page users.

Note

In CMM, this process is used by coresident clients only.

The Ldapcorp process is the same as ldapfe process except that ldapcorp facilitates external administration. Customers can gain access to the LDAP database from outside of the audix domain.

The Updatefe process receives LDAP updates from LDAP/SMTP based networked nodes.

Note

You must set the Updates In field on the Messaging Server Admin screen to Yes for the Updatefe process to run.
